Here’s a great short video we did during ACT II that shows a little glimpse of where Fantasy of Flight is headed! It will not be about teaching history; it will be about using history to teach people about themselves! I learned the hard way that the aviation museum industry will never pay the light bill, so I am being led to go after the rest of the planet! One day, I hope to create a win-win situation and build something NO ONE in the aviation industry will ever attempt, which will blow away th

From the library... The Military Channel's show Air Aces came to Fantasy of Flight to film episode segments on the Tuskegee Airmen. The shoot consisted of one day of scenes with actors, and one day of filming Kermit Weeks flying his P-51C Mustang. Kermit flew on one of the hottest days of the summer, in full jacket and gear, for over an hour. Heat, Plane, and Action... it was a hot shoot all around. | Kermit Weeks

You Are There! Come fly the Albatros with me over the beautiful countryside at Shuttleworth Old Warden Aerodrome in England. This plane is one of the magnificent works of art built by Peter Jackson's, The Vintage Aviator Limited in New Zealand. This is my first flight over here with this aircraft, so let's take to the skies... maybe we'll run into Gene DeMarco from TVAL piloting the Re-8. - Kermit Weeks | Kermit Weeks

OK Gang, here’s a great Flash from the Past video of me flying our DeHavilland B-35 Mosquito at Oshkosh decades ago when I was 36 YEARS OLD! It is still on display in the EAA Museum and, one day, will be disassembled and brought back to Florida. Since it has not flown for over three decades, it will need a detailed inspection of its 75-year old wood structure and a total restoration before it will fly again. At the time, this was the ONLY Mosquito flying in the world, so enjoy the other ones now

On a beautiful Florida afternoon at Fantasy of Flight, Kermit Weeks takes the Curtiss Wright CW-19R out for its first test flight after acquiring and assembling it in California. Kermit takes her around the circuit several times, a couple of landings and take-offs, and then wows the ground crew with a few low passes. | Kermit Weeks

It was earlier this week in 1942 when U.S. Marines took Henderson Field on Guadalcanal and the first plane landed. It was a PBY. It was soon joined by a️🦆! That little moment marked the beginning of the Cactus Air Force and one heck of a battle in the Pacific. Check out part 2 of 3 of a "Kermi Cam" from the vault! | Kermit Weeks

It was earlier this week, back in 1937, the mighty Short Sunderland took to the skies for the very first time! This flying boat became one of the legends of WWII, patrolling vast oceans and earning the nickname “Flying Porcupine” for its heavy defensive firepower. Check out part 1 of 2 in this Video from the Vault, we’ll take a look at my own Sunderland and share a bit of its incredible story. | Kermit Weeks

I thought it would be good to visit Jerry and check out his place. As you'll see, it looks very very familiar . . . a lot like another aviation attraction and facility I know of. Anyway, come on along with me a
