According to authorities and court records, Joshua Jay Mitchell, 42, started multiple fires which sparked the massive blaze on Cobb Lane and 20th Street South around 6 a.m. on Friday. Officials say he also set other fires that morning. The fires were not fully extinguished until Saturday night. Mitchell is being charged with second-degree arson, as well as criminal trespass, possession of a controlled substance and unlawful breaking and entering a vehicle.
