THIS DAY IN HISTORY: BEGINNING OF THE MONROE GIRLS DRUM & BUGLE CORPS. The Monroe Girls Corps was born, so to speak, on 10 Jan 1949, 73 years ago today. Here is their performance at the halftime of the 1967 Coaches All-America Game played at Atlanta Stadium. The Corps is under the leadership of Drum Major, Mary Jane Head. While the quality of the video is poor, the quality of the girls' performance is outstanding as usual. | Monroe Museum
