We found a trap door under the floor of the motel. When we were renovating the old breakfast room, we pulled up the flooring and underneath was a hidden trap door. We peeked inside and saw two underground rooms. Filled with dirt, old wood and debris. I immediately thought… this is either treasure or dead bodies! It was neither of these things and as access was only via the trap door through the floor in the middle of valuable floor space, and with no extra budget, we decided to cover it back up.
