Jul 20, 2009 · Before Humalog came out, I think all pumpers used regular insulin. It may have been a special buffered kind, though, and not the usualy Novolin/Humulin/Relion Regular. I know there are some very insulin resistant pumpers who use U-500 in their pumps, and U-500 is a form of Regular insulin.

Mar 2, 2020 · Hi Marc. I use Novolin 70/30 flexpen everyday for over a year now (today is 3/19/20). It works for me-taking 60 units/day. Type II diabetic. I do have highs and lows like everyone. Controlling that is dependent on your diet and exercise, of course (I'm 68). Avoid carbs and sugar as much as possible.
