The growing eastern black rhino and her mother Zuri will now have access to the public viewing area on Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. Just as a reminder, we cannot guarantee guests will see Zumi and Zuri because it is their choice to enter the yard.

We are thrilled to welcome two additional critically endangered Eastern Black Rhinos to the Kansas City Zoo. This male and female pair is now on exhibit in Africa where you can see them in their habitat together. Both rhinos came to Kansas City in early April from the Oregon Zoo.

On your next visit to the Zoo, be sure to stop by the Animal Adventures LIVE program at 11 am and 2:30 pm in the Beastro Lobby Auditorium to watch Big Sur and other animal ambassadors in action! Chewie has become FIN-tastically adept at training since he arrived at Sobela Ocean Aquarium in 2023.
