Youth Hunting - Deer. An approximately week-long youth deer season will be held in September. The following is tentative and subject to change until the season's proclamation has been signed: Residents who turn age 11, 12 or 13 are eligible to receive an antlerless white-tailed deer license.

Mule deer are found in the western half of North Dakota and, while populations are spotty, herd health is great. Mule deer can primarily be found in the badlands along the LittleMissouri River but also inhabit the breaks along the main Missouri River.

Browse on a variety of trees, shrubs and forbs including green ash, aspen, sweetclover and sagebrush. Mule deer will also eat grass species, alfalfa and other agricultural crops. Sep 22, 2008 · I've seen lots of mule deer just north of TRNP. The Killdeer area has lots of both mule deer and whitetail and is a great area for spot and stalk and still hunting. Here's a couple of pic's in the killdeer area.

Nov 7, 2023 · Additionally, the Killdeer Mountains WMA features nearly 7,000 acres of prime mule deer habitat. The Fort Berthold Reservation is on the northeastern border of Unit 4A. Archery and rifle deer hunting on the reservation is allowed by North Dakota residents and non-residents.
