Android’s Google Play Protect service is getting an update called live threat detection which seeks out potentially harmful apps on your phone by analyzing app behavior and alerts you in realtime if something looks fishy.

Earlier this year in July, some reports hinted that Google was working on a feature to identify potential scams during calls by analyzing the conversation. Fast forward to today, Google is rolling out live Scam Detection to public beta users on select Google Pixel phones.

Play Protect on Pixel phones monitors apps for harmful behavior, alerting users in real-time with notifications. Google already provides several tools to protect your Pixel smartphone from spam calls and messages.

Google is rolling out real-time spam detection feature in the Phone app. For now, the feature is live for Pixel 6 onwards users, and it is soon coming to other Android smartphones as well.
