Bennie Byrd, 40, was identified by police as the man inside a vehicle who was shot and then crashed into another vehicle in the intersection. It happened shortly after 10 p.m. Sunday on Winton Road at North Bend Road in College Hill.

A man was shot and killed in West Town early Sunday morning. Around 2 a.m., police said the man's car was hit by a red car, in the 1500 block of N. Magnolia Avenue. Police said the man got out of his car and the driver of the red vehicle fired shots and drove off.

The male, whose age was unknown, suffered a gunshot wound to the chest and was transported to Northwestern Hospital where he was later pronounced dead, Chicago police said.
