The Vancouver Canucks were unable to get a trade done on Friday involving forward Brock Boeser and now thanks to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman, we know why.

TSN's Darren Dreger reported on Monday that Vancouver offered Boeser a five-year, $40 million contract earlier this season, but negotiations stalled over the term length.
