People in several northern U.S. states may be able to see aurora borealis, also know as the northern lights, on Tuesday night ahead of a minor geomagnetic storm that is set to hit. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA)'s Space Weather Prediction Center has released its prediction for the aurora view line for Tuesday and Wednesday,

The Northern Lights are expected to glow over the night sky in parts of the UK over the next few nights, including this evening, the Met Office has said. If you live in northern and western Scotland, you'll probably be more likely to see the aurora borealis, according to a map shared by the forecasting service today.

The northern lights are best seen between 10 p.m. and 2 a.m. local time, according to NOAA, which recommends traveling to a high vantage point away from light pollution. If conditions are optimal, aurora borealis may be seen as far as 620 miles away.
