State and local officials announced charges against three suspects after a traffic stop in Downey led to the confiscation of fentanyl and opium worth an estimated $55 million.

While announcing criminal charges in the case, Attorney General Rob Bonta said the recent seizure of more than 50 pounds of fentanyl in Los Angeles County is the largest bust of its kind the California Department of Justice has seen.

One man is in custody after Bexar County Sheriff’s Office deputies completed a drug bust at an East Side home on Thursday. Sheriff Javier Salazar said 20 kilograms of meth and heroin were found inside a concrete mixer at a home in the 1500 block of Gorman Street.
