A student from the University of Delaware is dead and eight other people were hurt as two people in an overdue U-Haul truck were fleeing police officers in Newark, Delaware, on Tuesday, according to officials.

Gordon Turner, 22, is facing multiple charges after a crash involving a U-Haul he was driving Tuesday night in Newark, Delaware.

Students at the University of Delaware are heartbroken and picking up the pieces more than 24 hours after a graduate student was struck and killed near campus, by a man allegedly fleeing police.
