Atlantic tropical activity is increasing this week. The WXII 12 First Warning Weather Team is tracking Tropical Storm Dexter. We are also monitoring several areas of interest in the Atlantic, including a spot a few hundred miles off of the North Carolina Coast.

The fourth named storm of the 2025 Atlantic hurricane season continues to move away from the North Carolina coast, but there are other things to watch in the tropics this week. Tropical Storm Dexter formed on Sunday night, Aug. 3, becoming the fourth named storm of the 2025 Atlantic hurricane season.
