New York City Comptroller and mayoral candidate Brad Lander was detained for several hours after being arrested at an immigration court on Tuesday, the latest politician opposed to U.S. President Donald Trump's immigration raids to get caught up with law enforcement.

Following NYC Comptroller Brad Lander's arrest by ICE, members of the state's congressional delegation plan to conduct an oversight visit.

Lander was released four hours after his arrest. He told the media that he was at the courthouse to "accompany" a defendant out of immigration court.
