Manchester United have confirmed that defender Lisandro Martinez has suffered an injury to the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee. Martinez was stretchered off in tears following a tangle with Ismaila Sarr during the second half of Sunday's 2-0 defeat by Crystal Palace.

Amorim could mix things up further by moving the Dutchman to the central centre-back position and Maguire to the left. Maguire has experience playing as the left-sided defender in a three for England and Hull City but he is more of a ball-carrying centre-back than a passer.
