Excluding the NFL draft and free agency, the biggest story surrounding the Falcons this offseason has been Kirk Cousins' uncertain future. Cousins, who was benched in favor of quarterback Michael Penix Jr.

The 2025 NFL Draft was supposed to bring some clarity to the Kirk Cousins situation. For those who need a reminder, Cousins signed a four-year, $180 million contract with the Atlanta Falcons last offseason, only to eventually be overtaken by first-round rookie Michael Penix by the end of the season.

According to ESPN's Marc Raimondi, "After the draft and its quarterback machinations, there doesn't seem to be a natural landing place for [Cousins] at this moment and it seems realistic he continues being Michael Penix Jr.'s backup through the offseason."
