Immigration raids continued to ratchet up anxiety and anger over the weekend across Southern California, including at the Santa Fe Springs Swap Meet.

A federal appeals court will decide Tuesday whether California can block President Donald Trump from taking over the National Guard.

Trump directed ICE to deport immigrants in the U.S. illegally, specifically from Democratic-run cities such as New York and Chicago.

Todd Lyons, the head of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, defended his tactics last week week against criticism that authorities are being too heavy-handed. He has said ICE is averaging about 1,600 arrests per day and that the agency has arrested “dangerous criminals.” It is an assertion many lawmakers and city leaders decry.

Graduation parties, medical appointments, playing outside are all too risky. “I’m scared to death to leave my house.”

At least five carwashes across Los Angeles County and Orange County have been raided since Sunday, according to one labor group.
