The co-CEO of CD Projekt Red, Michal Nowakowski, wrote on X (formerly Twitter), “Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Season 2 is in production. Different crew and new standalone story set in the Night City.

Back in October 2022 the producer of Cyberpunk Edgerunners cast doubt over a second season, saying the anime had been conceived as a standalone work, and as such nothing else was planned at the time.

During Anime Expo 2025, Netflix and CD Projekt Red officially announced Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Season 2 — a brand-new installment of the acclaimed anime series set in the world of Cyberpunk 2077.

However, the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners season 2 will be streamed on Netflix. Furthermore, a key visual drawn by Ichigo Kanno from Studio Trigger has been shared on the anime's official platforms.
