Lauren Lavern quits BBC 6 Music breakfast show - Radio presenter will return to mid-mornings from February to present a new weekday programme

Lauren Laverne has announced she will step down from BBC 6 Music's breakfast show, after taking time away for cancer treatment. The presenter, who also hosts Radio 4's Desert Island Discs, will hand over the programme to Nick Grimshaw, who has been keeping her seat warm since August.
