The Washington Commanders agreed to re-sign backup quarterback Marcus Mariota, a league source told UPI on Wednesday.

Marcus Mariota will remain the backup in Washington. Mariota has agreed to re-sign with the Commanders on a one-year contract worth $8 million, according to multiple reports. Mariota, 31, threw for 364 yards and four touchdowns and rushed for 92 yards a touchdown while appearing in three games as Jayden Daniels' backup last season.
