As the National Hurricane Center tracks Hurricane Imelda in the Atlantic, a new storm, Tropical Storm Octave, has popped up in the Pacific. Tropical Storm Octave is spinning over the tropical Eastern Pacific, according to the NHC.
The National Hurricane Center's 8 a.m. Thursday update reported that Category 1 Hurricane Imelda is in the Atlantic Ocean, 230 miles east of Bermuda. With maximum sustained winds of 80 mph, the hurricane is moving east-northeast at 30 mph. Imelda is forecast to become an extratropical storm.
Conditions are slowly starting to improve in Bermuda after the island was lashed by powerful winds, heavy rain, and massive waves as Hurricane Imelda passed by.
