A fresh blast of solar wind is set to enhance aurora activity just in time for Valentine's Day. If conditions are right, the northern lights could be visible as far south as northern Michigan and Maine over the coming days.

Aurora borealis is best seen between 10 p.m. and 2 a.m. local time, according to NOAA, which recommends traveling to a high vantage point away from light pollution. The northern lights could be seen as far as 620 miles away if conditions are optimal.
