Roller-coaster' temperature changes and snow is expected in parts of Vermont this weekend. When will it start.
A winter weather advisory was issued for parts of Vermont, with snow accumulations expected to reach up to 9 inches in some areas, prompting officials to warn residents about hazardous travel conditions.
Towns and cities across Vermont and the North Country saw several inches of snow fall on Wednesday morning, causing dozens of school delays and creating slick road conditions. As of early Tuesday morning, Snow Squall Warnings spanned hundreds of miles from Pennsylvania to Maine, covering about 1.6 million people.
The weekend begins much colder on Saturday, with highs in the teens and windchills below zero. Clouds may be stubborn in the morning, before more sun blends in by the afternoon. Highs reach the mid-20s on Sunday after a subzero morning. Sun will fade to clouds before another round of snow moves in Sunday night, bringing a few inches to most towns.
Skies are partly to mostly sunny Saturday with temperatures barely budging from the morning in the single digits and teens. Sunday morning may be the coldest air we’ve seen all season with temperatures below zero in most locations, but warming up in to the 20’s by afternoon!
Another winter storm clips our area late today through the overnight before Arctic air moves in for Saturday. Bitter wind chills are likely to start the weekend before warming up and turning a bit more active by the end of the weekend.
