Commanders QB Jayden Daniels on return

It’s official: Jayden Daniels is back. Commanders head coach Dan Quinn told reporters in his Friday press conference that Daniels has been cleared for contact and will start Sunday’s game against the Vikings.
Coach Dan Quinn noted Wednesday that he's optimistic Daniels (left elbow) will "get a lot of reps in practice" this week, but added that he's "going to take it all the way through Friday" in terms of the QB's Week 14 status, Nicki Jhabvala of The Washington Post reports.
Daniels, who has been cleared to play Sunday, scrambles more than any NFL quarterback. Protecting himself while doing so will be key to a successful return.
There is still a chance quarterback Jayden Daniels returns in Week 14 when the Commanders play the Vikings. But he has some steps to get through to do so. During his Monday press conference, head coach Dan Quinn said Daniels has not yet been cleared for contact and the team may take the decision on whether or not he plays all the way to Friday.
With playoff hopes slipping away for the Commanders and the Bengals, some are asking why their oft-injured star quarterbacks could still see the field.
