Director Jon M. Chu says Britney Spears will be 'very involved' in his cinematic adaptation of the iconic pop star's memoir, 'The Woman In Me.'

Jon M. Chu couldn't share much about the in-the-works Britney Spears documentary he's directing, but said he wants to 'tell her story right.'

Jon M. Chu would love to tell you all about the Britney Spears biopic he's working on. But speaking to Billboard on the red carpet at Sunday night's (Jan. 5) Golden Globe Awards, the Wicked director said,

Jon M. Chu is set to direct the Britney Spears biopic based on her 2023 memoir The Woman In Me. At the Golden Globes, the Wicked director shared an update on the film and how much the pop star will be involved in the film.

Jon M. Chu is assuring fans that Britney Spears will be “very involved” in the adaptation of her bestselling 2023 memoir “The Woman in Me.” Chu told Entertainment Tonight that the mega-star will definitely be part of the production for his upcoming Universal film,

In July 2024, Britney Spears let it all hang out in her memoir, The Woman in Me. From the “ Baby One More Time ” singer’s past romantic relationships to challenging family dynamic to the tumultuous battle to end her conservatorship. Soon enough, Spears’ life story will be plastered onto the big screen.

At the Golden Globes, Chu, who will direct the Grammy winner’s biopic, said she’ll have a hand in it, but it is still in its early stages.
