During Tuesday’s series opener against the Milwaukee Brewers, Cruz collided with left fielder Jack Suwinski in the bottom half of the fourth inning as they both dove for a ball. He was removed from the game shortly after and pinch-hit for by Tommy Pham who took over left field with Suwinski moving to Cruz’s place in center.

Christian Yelich, Andrew Vaughn and Caleb Durbin also went deep as major league-leading Milwaukee improved to 27-5 in its last 32 games. Freddy Peralta (14-5) pitched six innings of three-hit ball in his second straight win.

A victory Wednesday against the Pirates would give the Brewers a fourth consecutive series sweep and extend their streak to 12 games, one off the franchise record set when the team opened the 1987 season with 13 in a row.
