Regular payments will continue on their standard schedule throughout July 2025. However, recipients who received overpayment notices beginning April 25, 2025, may see their payments reduced starting approximately July 24, 2025. The SSA provides a 90-day notice period between issuing overpayment notifications and beginning benefit withholding.

Combined SSI and Social Security: If you receive both and your Social Security start date predates May 1997, you’ll see the SSI portion July 1, 2025 and the Social Security portion July 3, 2025. Otherwise, Social Security follows the Wednesday schedule above and SSI hits July 1.

In April 2025, the Social Security Administration announced that it would withhold 50% of the benefit payments of overpaid recipients.
