Nissan Motor Co is drawing up plans to replace its chief executive officer (CEO) following another dismal set of earnings and the collapse of talks to combine with Honda Motor Co, according to people familiar with the matter.

Nissan is readying a major executive shakeup, which may spell the end for its current CEO, Makoto Uchida, Bloomberg and Reuters report. The Yokohama-based automaker could be looking for a new CEO after merger negotiations failed with Honda a short time ago.
