Ethen Frank added his second NHL goal as Washington won consecutive games for the first time since before the Christmas break.

WASHINGTON — Logan Thompson stopped all 19 shots he faced for his first shutout of the season, and the Washington Capitals beat the Anaheim Ducks 3-0 on Tuesday night.

Brandon Duhaime had a goal and an assist for the Capitals (29-10-5), who are 5-0-3 in their past eight games, and 8-0-3 in their past 11 home games. Thompson improved to 19-2-3 and recorded his first shutout as a Capital.
