Officials have confirmed nearly 130 people dead in the wake of the catastrophic Fourth of July storms on Friday, July 11, one full week after the floods began devastating the Texas Hill Country. Kerr County officials say death toll has risen to 96 due to the Hill Country floods, including 60 adults and 36 children.

Federal regulators repeatedly granted appeals to remove Camp Mystic’s buildings from their 100-year flood map, as the camp operated and expanded in a dangerous flood plain in the years before rushing waters swept away children and counselors.
