PowerSchool, a major education software company, announced a security breach on Tuesday, possibly affecting schools across the nation with data leaks.

(Statewide) – Indiana students are among millions across the country affected by a December 28 Power School data breach that exposed information on schools, students and families. Fayette County Schools is among the districts confirming their data was exposed. The bulk of the schools confirming a data breach are in Central Indiana.

EVANSVILLE — Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation notified employees at noon Thursday that its student data software vendor, PowerSchool, had experienced a "widespread cybersecurity data breach" affecting student and employee data.
