The U.S. Federal Aviation Administration and Boeing have privately issued notifications that the fuel switch locks on Boeing planes are safe.

Engine fuel control switches are at the centre of the investigation into last month’s Air India plane crash that killed 260 people

The FAA endorsed this assessment, issuing a Continued Airworthiness Notification stating the fuel control switch design doesn't pose an unsafe condition warranting action on any Boeing model.
