The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints announced it will build 15 new temples, including one in Yuma. There are six in Arizona already.

It is also the third new temple announced in a year, with temples being planned for Queen Creek and Yuma. There are approximately 450,000 Latter-day Saints in the state, according to the LDS church.
