Spirit Airlines has filed for fresh bankruptcy protection months after emerging from a Chapter 11 reorganization.

There will be no impact to Labor Day travel as flights will continue to operate normally, according to the airline.

Spirit Airlines filed for bankruptcy for the second time in less than a year, The Wall Street Journal reported.

Spirit Airlines on Friday filed for bankruptcy protection, just months after the budget carrier failed to secure better financial footing when it came out of Chapter 11 protection in March.
