The Galaxy S22 Ultra is a great phone, but it's now three years old. Should you upgrade? I would, but I don't recommend it to everyone.

Speaking of price, time is on your side. The further away from the launch of the Galaxy S25 Ultra, the cheaper it gets if you buy an S24 Ultra. Amazon prices are hovering just under $1,000 for a new phone, while a renewed S24 Ultra will set you back $840 — a significant discount from MSRP.

Thanks to smaller bezels, the Galaxy S25 is able to cram in a slightly larger 6.2-inch screen in the same physical size as the S22, which has a 6.1-inch screen. Both are AMOLED panels with gorgeous colors and a similar 1080p resolution, so don't expect much of an upgrade in that.
