The Lakers should consider a blockbuster trade for a Phoenix Suns standout wing who's know coming off the bench.

Any Beal transaction before the February deadline would require navigating not only his no-trade clause but also one of the NBA's most challenging contracts to move.

In return for Beal, Los Angeles would likely ship out the contracts of Jarred Vanderbilt and Gabe Vincent among others to make salaries match. The Lakers would also likely include draft compensation, though it’s possible that Beal won’t command first-round selections.

With a no-trade clause still in his contract, Beal has complete control of where the Suns send him if he ultimately wants out of Phoenix. With a trade in his control, his potential destinations have initially been narrowed down to three teams: LA Lakers, Miami Heat, and Denver Nuggets.

So Wednesday, I opened the computer, cracked my knuckles and got to work on a deal that would’ve gotten the Lakers more athletic, more rebounding and more scoring — all without costing them both of their first-round picks.
