Veteran cornerback Darius Slay says he’s going to retire after the 2025 NFL season, but wants to play with the Philadelphia Eagles

Darius Slay isn't just a great defensive back. Star Eagle WR DeVonta Smith is a fan of the former Mississippi State star's hoops skills, too.

Slay, a 6-time Pro Bowl selection, said he would play elsewhere in 2025 if the Eagles don't bring him back. The Eagles drafted cornerbacks Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean in the first two rounds of the draft last season. And they might try to re-sign Isaiah Rodgers, who's eligible for free agency after this season.

Slay began his career with the Detroit Lions after being selected in the second round of the 2013 NFL Draft . Slay played the first seven seasons with the Lions before being traded to the Eagles before the 2020 season. He ended up signing a three-year, $50 million deal with the Eagles.
