With several inches of snow on the ground and freezing cold temperatures, 18 Gentoo penguins at Wonders of Wildlife got a rare outdoor experience on Thursday, Feb. 20, 2025.

Wonders of Wildlife celebrated Reese the gentoo penguin’s 32nd birthday with a cake, banner, and other festivities, and Reese showed off her artistic side by painting canvases.

As temperatures soar in El Paso, the Zoo explained it's implementing creative strategies to ensure the animals stay chill.

Gentoo penguins at Wonders of Wildlife in Springfield, Missouri, enjoyed a rare opportunity to experience snow and cold temperatures outside their enclosure.
