The Chiefs quarterback made history last week, so he deserves to be celebrated this Black History Month — along with other Kansas City greats you may not know.

Here’s a look back at Mahomes’ football journey to Kansas City, from his high school days to his college seasons. Mahomes, who was born in Tyler, Texas, on September 17th, 1995, attended Whitehouse High School in Whitehouse, Texas. He was only rated as a three-star prospect.

As the Kansas City Chiefs play in their third straight Super Bowl, all eyes will once again be on quarterback Patrick Mahomes. Cheering him on will be his wife, Brittany, who has been by his side since 2012.
