The man, 47-year-old Elliot Barstow, was BASE jumping Sunday when his parachute failed to fully open. He hit a rock wall and fell 650 feet.

A base jumper fell 650 feet to his death after his parachute didn’t fully open in Washington, police said. The incident happened at about 8:40 a.m. March 30 near Milepost 202 on U.S. Route 97 Alternate, the Chelan County Sheriff’s Office said in a Facebook post.
