The NBA Cup has now been narrowed down to two teams, with the New York Knicks and San Antonio Spurs set to meet in the championship game on Tuesday night in Las Vegas. The Knicks beat the Orlando Magic in the semifinals to reach the title game, while the Spurs ended the Oklahoma City Thunder's 16-game win streak to advance.

Fans will still vote for the All-Star Game starters, but it will be positionless, and the players will land in an exciting new format.

Players, including Tyrese Haliburton, dislike the rule; the Indiana Pacers star called the threshold “stupid” after a Pacers practice in January 2024. A person familiar with the National Basketball Players Association’s (NBPA) plans will push to reduce the threshold in the next CBA, which will come after the 2029-30 season.
