After basically the whole thing had already been leaked online and by vendors at CES, today Nintendo announced the Switch 2, the follow-up to the original Switch that debuted in 2017 and has since become the third best-selling video game console of all time.
Switch 2 announcement reveals new Mario Kart game
Nintendo has finally revealed its forthcoming Switch 2 console with gameplay of a new Mario Kart game. The new console is seen playing brand new Mario Kart footage, with characters racing on Mario Bros. Circuit set in a desert, with Mario, Luigi, Bowser, Peach, Toad and more featured on both karts and bikes.

The video has footage of the Nintendo Switch 2 appearing to run a brand new Mario Kart. In the Mario Kart footage, at least 15 racers including Mario, Luigi, Peach, and Bowser can be seen racing around a desert-themed track. By comparison, Mario Kart 8 on the first Nintendo Switch and the Wii U allowed a maximum of 12 players in the same race.
