I have set up many routers for small home LANs, but I almost never use the install cd. I just configure the router by inputting the router's IP into a browser and then I start the setup wizard.
If that's a router you've bassically got a firewall. I think the Linksys just integrates with ZoneAlarm for alerts and logging and stuffs ...
