In most cases, this is the C drive. If the folder is somewhere ... If the working folder doesn't change in Command Prompt, you may be doing something wrong or have your permissions set incorrectly.

Typing a command in the shell will change the prompt for the current session only. If you want a more permanent change, add the line to the bottom of your ~/.bashrc file.
