The northern lights may be visible from parts of the U.S. on Tuesday. According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), the arrival of a so-called "corotating interaction region" could trigger "G2"-class geomagnetic storms.

Space weather agencies forecasted the possibility of northern lights, or the aurora borealis, on Tuesday and Wednesday nights for much of the country.
