Appearing this week on the “Baseball Tonight” podcast, Alden Gonzalez of ESPN shared an interesting report about the Los Angeles Angels third baseman Rendon. Gonzalez said that the belief is that Rendon may retire in the wake of his latest injury ( a hip issue that will require surgery ).

While there’s no true finality yet, Wednesday’s news still felt like this relationship had reached a point of no return.

This will be the fifth straight season that Rendon misses significant time. He has two years and $72 million left on a seven-year, $245-million deal.
