Albertsons CEO Sankaran to retire after failed Kroger buyout
Albertsons (NYSE: ACI) announced March 3 that Sankaran — who is based in Dallas-Fort Worth along with several members of his executive team, although the company is headquartered in Idaho — would retire May 1. He will be replaced by Susan Morris, currently the company's chief operating officer. She appears to be based in Boise.

The announcement Monday came the same day that Kroger’s CEO, Rodney McMullen, resigned after an investigation by the Cincinnati grocery company’s board into his “personal conduct.” That undisclosed conduct, “while unrelated to the business, was inconsistent with Kroger’s Policy on Business Ethics,” Kroger said in a news release.
