Nifty 50 outlook remains weak and the markets will consolidate in a range with stock specific action on the back of Q3 result announcements, analysts said.

Indian equity markets fell on Thursday, January 09. The BSE Sensex dropped as much as 0.77% to 77,542.92 level while the NSE compiled Nifty 50 slipped 0.78% to an intra-day low level of 23,503, testing one of the important support levels. The Nifty 50 closed the session 0.69% lower at 23,526.50. The Sensex dropped 0.68% to finish at 77,620.21.

For benchmark Nifty-50 index, 23650 will be the key level to watch. Below this level, the market could continue its weak formation till 23400-23375. Conversely, if it rises above 23650, it could bounce back to 23750-23800,

The Indian stock market is likely to open on a cautious note as indicated by the GIFT Nifty, which is down by 20 points in early trade currently at 23,703. The muted sentiment comes amid a broader sell-off across Asian markets,
