Nestor Cortes met with reporters a day after allowing five homers in his Brewers debut, and he took responsibility for not making in-game adjustments.

Cortes watched as Milwaukee fell to the Yankees on Opening Day, making notes and beginning to prepare for his start against his old teammates on Saturday. He’ll toe the rubber against Max Fried, the ace who got the biggest contract ever for a left-handed pitcher from the Yankees just a few days after the Cortes trade.

After Saturday's game, Nestor Cortes left Yankee Stadium without speaking to reporters. On Sunday morning, he acknowledged it was a “brutal” afternoon.
